It has been five and a half days since I gave up Facebook. In those five and a half days, I have:
1. Stayed at work late each of them.
2. Gotten all of my students' grades done and in the computer.
3. Caught up with my online ESOL class.
4. Gone out for dinner twice.
I haven't gotten to do any of the other things that I thought I would get to, but I'm still early in this "No Facebook" project. I will say that there has been a little less stress in my life. I don't feel like I am rushing to get stuff done or worried about anything. I have almost logged in to Facebook 3 times, but I have caught myself each time. The end of the Daytona 500 was really hard not to update my status about.
Some of the negatives would be that I have absolutely no idea what is going on with the rest of my family. I've talked to John and both of my parents. My brother did Skype with me last night, so I saw my nephew; but what my sister and the rest of my family are up to...I have no idea!
I have also noticed that Facebook was my main source of conversing with some of my friends. I have started to realize just how many phone numbers that I don't have through this project.
In general, though I truly feel like I am a happier person. I have no way of seeing what people are doing, so nothing can upset me or frustrate me.
We've got about 29.5 more days to go!
