Since the last time I updated, John has lost another member of his family. We found out shortly after the last post. Two of his uncles were in the hospital for cancer and they both seem to have come through well, but only time will tell us more. On my side of the family, there are concerns about one of my uncles, so if you guys don't mind - I'd like to ask for your thoughts, well wishes and prayers if possible.
School has started back at full speed. I joked with my co-workers last week that I needed a week off because of my week off. The kids came back and weren't as crazy as you would expect, but you can definitely tell we are moving in to the final quarter of the year. Hopefully my co-teaching project with Meredith will keeps the kids enthralled in school for the last nine weeks of the year. We're also going to be moving in to a new unit next week that allows the kids to get a little more involved in the activity.
I picked up my car on Tuesday from the shop and was so excited that the "bite mark" was gone that I failed to notice the issue with my tire. My car was blinking at me to check my tire pressure, but when I got out to look, the tire looked fine so I left the shop. I stopped and had air put in the tire, but on the way home the warning was still on. Upon arriving at home and exiting my car I heard that lovely sound of air rushing out of my tire...this is what I found:

On Saturday, we went to a book festival at the local university. Some of our kids were preforming a skit that was written by them. They did a good job and I was super proud of all of them! The book festival on the other hand was not quite as exciting. We left rather quickly after the kids had gone on. When we got home, I was greeted by a package from John with my phone charger and some other things I left in Ohio. The mail lady went a little "postal" I guess, you should see it in the picture. Meredith and I decided to try something she'd seen on Pintrest...a cookie bowl. I only have the picture of pre-baking because it turned out really bad.
Sunday was the most fun! We went to a Spring Training baseball game! We sat up on the Berm, but I had a really good time with Meredith and Brooke. The Detroit Tigers played the Houston Astros.
The downside to the baseball game? We got a little burnt. If you put Meredith and I next to each other, we form a complete four foot burn.
