Turning 26...

Yesterday was my 26th birthday!  I was all prepared to spend it with Meredith, Brooke and Nick.  It was supposed to be the first birthday I spent without my parents, siblings and husband.  But I got the best surprise in the world and it made me remember that I am one of the luckiest women in the world.

Last night our plan was to go to the NASCAR Sports Grille over at City Walk and have dinner.  Today I was going to go to the beach and relax and tomorrow we were going to go to Downtown Orlando for the evening.  It was all planned out and I was ready to celebrate my "golden birthday" (26 on the 26th).  We had newspaper yesterday after school and I kept joking with the kids that their rides had better be there by 5:00 because I had reservations for the evening.

All the kids were picked up around 5:30 and we were walking out to Meredith's car.  I couldn't find my phone and was digging around in my purse with my head ducked in to the backseat of the car searching for it.  When I couldn't find it anywhere I pulled my head out of the car and turned around to see a person standing VERY close to me - which would surprise anyone.  Then I realized who it was!

JOHN FLEW DOWN TO SURPRISE ME!!!  It was the best surprise I could have asked for.  I am so lucky.  Meredith took this video - her and my family have been keeping this secret for TWO WEEKS!

He even rented a Camaro for the day because it's my absolute favorite car!  After the surprise we did go to the NASCAR Sports Grille for dinner and had a really great time!

 

Today we drove the Camaro around in the morning until we had to return it at noon.  We went to lunch at T.G.I. Friday's and then came home and relaxed for a while before going out to dinner.  We had BJ's Restaurant & Bar and the followed it up with Menchi's for dessert.  When we got home, he obligingly went with me on my walk (I've eaten WAY over my calories for the past two days) and now we've been home for the night.

Tomorrow we're going to have some fun and then go and get a couple's massage in the evening.  So far this has been one of the best weekends ever!  I'm so lucky to have such a wonderful husband.  :-)
